ISLAND
I wanted to take all my anger out in this song. It's directed toward someone who crossed a line and really left me feeling destroyed. It plays with the idea of wanting this person's body to be sent to an island far away after they're dead. It may seem extreme but ultimately this song should feel cathartic, like that huge built up scream you let out at the top of a hill.
For the record I wish no harm on anyone - this is a song.
I THINK YOU MIGHT TOUCH ME OUT OF SPITE
LYRICS
I wish you were on an island dead
This boy was raised on a silver dime
Got everything he wanted in sight
And he made all the classes in
Persuasive acrobatics look right
Alright
Took out an optimistic taste for life
But everyone he wanted looked nice
And he wasn’t your classic ‘movie magic’
Sweet romantical type
Not right
I think you might touch me out of spite
You cross the line every time
I wish you were on an island dead
Coz even your body carries debt
That after you’re gone I can’t collect
I wish you were sorry or you said
That you didn’t mean to fuck my head
Now I’ll be happy when you’re dead
I wasn’t giving any invitations out
Or sending signs
And I wasn’t made up for you to take up more space
Now you’re in my lane
And I don’t reciprocate
This boy was raised with a perfect life
Then took everything he wanted from mine
When I lie here I’m not sure if
I’m alive but I don’t like it
I think you might touch me out of spite
You cross the line every time
I wish you were on an island dead
Coz even your body carries debt
That after you’re gone I can’t collect
I wish you were sorry or you said
That you didn’t mean to fuck my head
Now I’ll be happy when you’re dead
I -
I wish you were sorry or you said
That you didn’t mean to fuck my head
Now I’ll be happy when you’re dead
