CATCHING FEELINGS
This one is one of my favourite songs I've ever made. Growing up queer, I’ve often found myself in complicated dynamics where others want to explore their sexuality with me, without considering the emotional cost when they leave.
This song tells the story of one of those relationships—the unspoken tension, the lingering looks, the moment you say the thing you’re not supposed to say, and the inevitable letdown.
IT WAS ONLY IN A DREAM, YOU IN LOVE WITH ME
LYRICS
I’m in a dream
I watch you leave
Who’s catching feelings now?
I’ll tell you something I dreamt about
I kissed your sofa
Slept on your mouth
Somehow I can’t see you the same way now
You got a lover
It’s heading south
You’re acting tougher when she’s around
Oh you hate each other but can’t walk out
Slowing down
You hear your doubts
You leave her for me oh
Who’s catching feeling now
It was only in a dream
You in love with me
And now I can’t fall asleep
Coz I can’t watch you leave again
Who’s catching feelings now
Who’s catching feelings now
Who’s catching
Who’s catching feelings now
You treat the mirror like it’s a fan
You’re on an island
You take your hand
Somewhere you can see me staring down
Can I come around
To slow your doubts
You’re weaker for me
Who’s catching feelings now
It was only in a dream
You in love with me
And now I can’t fall asleep
Coz I can’t watch you leave again
I’m in a dream with you in love with me
And now I can’t fall asleep
Coz I can’t watch you leave again
Who’s catching feelings now
Who’s catching feelings now
Who’s catching
Who’s catching feelings now
